The Twin Cities Amazons Rugby Club and Tiffany’s Sports Lounge will host the 27th Annual Hacker Classic on August 10, 2018.
Proceeds from the event, which will be held at Highland National Golf Course (check out the course’s website here), will be donated to the rugby club to cover operating costs for the year.
The Amazons are a senior women’s rugby club based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and competes locally and nationally. The club has sides compete in two different divisions: DII and Women’s Premier League (WPL). For DII, matches are within driving distance in the Midwest division that includes WI, MN, IA and IL. The WPL matches are played against teams around the country. The WPL is the highest level of domestic rugby in the country, so costs are higher, but competition is also higher. The Amazons placed 6th in the 2017 WPL playoffs and were WPL Champions back in 2013. The Zons are also active in the rugby community, many players are involved as referees or coaches for high school and collegiate teams as well as youth programs. The tournament format will be a four-person scramble with a shotgun start at 1:00 PM. Players may form their own team or golf individually. Players sign in before 11:30 AM on day of the event. Foursomes can also pay at Tiffany’s Sports Lounge the week before the event.
Entry fee for the event is $115 per player and there is room for 120 players in the tournament. Entry fee includes a good time, brunch, cart, greens fees, hole prizes, goodie bag, commemorative t-shirt, and steak dinner. The day will begin and also end at Tiffany’s Sport Lounge (http://www.tiffanysportslounge.com/) in Highland Park. Brunch will start at 10:00am and the steak dinner will immediately follow the tournament. The dinner will also include raffle prizes.
The Amazons are currently looking for hole sponsors and raffle donations for the event. Hole Sponsors promotion of their company’s logo at their hole on the course, their logo on the event t-shirt, social media promotion the day of the event, and the opportunity to include a promotional item in the event goodie bags for all 120 golfers. Your logo will also be highlighted on the club website’s sponsorship spotlight page. Further sponsorship information can be found here.
