Amazons Approved for Nonprofit Status

The Twin Cities Amazons Rugby Club is proud to announce that the organization has been approved for 501(c)(3) status as a nonprofit public charity federally recognized by the IRS.

Since 1982, the Amazons have been a competitive rugby club that strives to provide an inclusive community for all athletes. As a club, they believe that they are made stronger by their differences and united by their commitment, passion, and desire to be the best. 

The new tax-exempt status will allow the Amazons to continue to push their competitive limits and reach new goals. The Amazons are comprised of dedicated athletes and coaches who continuously strive to raise their standards physically, mentally, and emotionally. 

Longtime supporters and sponsors are now able to make tax-deductible donations or gifts. Contributions made to the club, make it possible to provide much-needed resources to their athletes who pay out of pocket to play. The Amazons look forward to utilizing their 501(c)(3) status to increase fundraising efforts and reduce the financial burden on its athletes and coaches.

The Amazons are a senior women’s rugby club based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The Amazons field teams to play in USA Rugby’s Women’s Premier League and USA Rugby’s Division 2 League. The club plays matches locally and nationally and welcomes players of all levels of experience.
